Hello everyone, I have finally decided to set up my blog on here! I've been meaning to but have put it off for far too long. I'd like to show you a new piece of mine :) It is a trilobite fossil! Drawn on wood, with conte crayons, Copic markers and ink. I don't usually dabble in non-digital media. I used to as a kid when I actually took art classes millions of years ago, working with mostly acrylic paint and oil pastel, and then moving on to oil paint in high school. I discovered digital art when I was around 14 years old, starting with just a mouse and then eventually moving on to a tablet. In the beginning I was quite terrible at it, but after I got the hang of digital painting I never really looked back. For the most part, a vast majority of my work - from doodles to full paintings - are done on Photoshop. ...but now traditional media is starting to make a comeback for me!
I really love drawing on textured surfaces, which is why a lot of my original pieces are on wood. I also have quite the affinity for smaller-sized artworks. I acquired these wooden postcard-sized panels from a shop on Etsy, and I've been having a ton of fun with them! I still have quite a few left, so you'll be seeing more of these. This piece is available for sale in my shop :)
