Exciting day today! My Monster Girl coloring book, which I've been working on for the past few months, is finally ready for preorder! The book features 15 Monster Girls for you to color in, plus the cover and front are additionally black and white as a coloring bonus :) Click on the pictures below for a preview! The books are $13 USD each, plus shipping. They will be printed double-sided, on 80lb light cardstock. I've tested out pens, pencils and markers on this paper myself without any bleeding, so it's pretty durable! Also! As a bonus, I will be including a FREE Centaur Girl temporary tattoo with every preorder! Preorders will be up until March 1st, which is when the books will be shipped out. You'll still be able to order one after this date, however they won't come with a fun temporary tattoo :) Get yours HERE!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's been over a year since I last updated this blog. Yikes. What was I up to last year? Well, I did a lot of traveling (as always), I launched the comic (which has taken up about half my life, basically) and took up a part time job. So, I've been busy busy busy. I've also been working on a couple of projects these past few months! One of them includes a Monster Girl themed coloring book :) I first noticed adult coloring books being a thing months and months ago, when the girls in several of my facebook groups were going gaga over a few of them on sale on Amazon. Ever since then, I've noticed them EVERYWHERE, especially bookstores and airports. So, I figured, why not make my own? This may remind some of you of that '30 Day Monster Girl' challenge that's all over tumblr. I did in fact get the idea from that, however for this project I'm going by my own list :) there will be 15 designs total, and as I write this blog, 7 of them have been completed. I am aiming to have it all completed and ready by the time Emerald City Comic Con rolls around. I will be sure to post more info once it's ready, so stay tuned :) Cheers and Happy New Year! -Megan Hello everyone, and hope you are having a Merry Christmas! I'm happy to announce that my art submission was accepted for the 2015 Monsters and Dames charity art book, run annually by Emerald City Comic Con. I'm super excited! As you've guessed already, the prompt for the book is about monsters and dames. It's very open-ended, which leaves a lot of room for imagination. For my submission, I decided to skip the whole damsel-in-distress routine :)
The original concept for this piece was based off of Nordic mythology (which stemmed from both my recent trip to Scandinavia earlier this year, and me also simultaneously discovering the tv show Vikings. Go figure.). The monster that our heroine faces was inspired by the wolf Fenrir, from Viking mythology. This finished piece was a bit of a deviation from my initial ideas, but I'm still really happy with the outcome. As for the art book itself, I -believe- that it will only be sold at Emerald City Comic Con 2015 (which, by the way, passes will likely sell out prior to the con, so if you're planning on going, grab your tickets now!). It's a limited edition book and proceeds go to Seattle Children's Hospital, so it's for a great cause! I will of course be in the artist alley during the con, so if you stop by my table, I'll be armed with a sharpie ready to sign my page for you :) More details to come as we get closer to the con. I'm so excited!! Hello there and Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers! Convention season for me is over for the year, but it's still one last push for the holiday season! For this weekend only, my Etsy shop is having a sale - take 15% off all purchases $10 or up. Use the code, DONTPANIC in the "add shop coupon code" during checkout. Visit here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MeganMissfit One more thing: shipping deadlines are as follows. Once these dates have passed, I can't promise that your order will arrive by Christmas! The earlier the better :)
Domestic (US): Dec 15 International: Dec 1 Yikes, it's been ages since I've posted here! Anyways, I'm here to announce that I've somehow managed to snag a booth at New York Comic Con this weekend! I will be at booth 1883 in the Exhibitors Hall, sharing a booth with a couple other artists :) check us out and say hi!
Some of you may have seen this piece at my tables at Crypticon and Phoenix Comicon, but this is my newest painting! Honestly, I'm not quite sure why rabbits pop up so much in my art. I'm even more bewildered as to why they frequently appear in mostly my creepier pieces. Oh well! :D
Prints for sale in my Etsy shop :) Megan Tomorrow I fly out to sunny Phoenix for Phoenix Comicon - this weekend! I'm still making some last minute preparations, however I think I've successfully figured out how I'm going to haul all of this stuff with me to Arizona in a graceful manner. I'm actually quite impressed with my packing capabilities! As usual I will have: -Prints -Greeting cards -Tank tops -Flower crowns -and more! Deets are right here! I'm at table 1947 in the Artist Alley: I'm super stoked for this show! However, I'm slightly unsure of that weather forecast - this weather-spoiled West Coast girl has never been in triple digit degree weather! I am not anticipating that I'll handle it very well, lol. If any of you need me, I'll probably be sprawled in front of a fan the whole time. Just give me a gentle nudge if you want to say hi :)
So I have to leave for the airport in about...7 hours and I am STILL not finished with packing! I will be at Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience this weekend, at the Salt Palace Convention Center :) my very first convention outside of WA state!
I will be in the artist alley at table K-3. Stop by and say hi if you are attending! I will be selling prints, greeting cards and taking a limited amount of sketch commissions at the con ^_^ See ya there :) Megan Missfit Next week is ECCC 2014! I will be in the artist alley at table E-01, come say hi! I will be selling prints, greeting cards, tank tops, flower crowns, everything! I will also be taking sketch/ink commissions for the entire weekend.
Despite having developed pseudo-hibernating tendencies over the winter season, this gloomy weather has gotten me in the mood for some color! Or, you know, some sunshine and warmth would be nice. They aren't paintings but I've been busy creating new things..... I've been really keen on the flower crown trend, so I couldn't resist making my own! They are super girly. And can be paired with so many outfits! Anything from lace dresses, to combat boots and denim shorts. Sturdy, and completely adjustable. They are designed to fit all teen/adult heads. Perfect for weddings, festivals, prom or just a day out! The process was messier than I expected! On the plus side, I have a pretty floor :) I've added to my shop these two tank tops: The tanks are made by American Apparel and screenprinted here in Seattle by Pork Chop Screen Printing. Completely sweatshop-free and made in the USA! For women sizes S-L of course. They run small so size up for a comfier fit!
Everything is available in the Etsy shop, here! You can find me at Emerald City Comicon next month selling them also. You know, I've always wanted to put my artwork on apparel, so I finally decided to make it happen. I'm really excited for these! Megan :) |
